Hello everybody and welcome back to the Anti-Aging Unraveled podcast. I'm your Host as

usual, Dr. Lori Gerber, and I'm here, as promised, giving you a second peptide conversation.

It seems to be a very hot topic these days and, in all honesty, it seems like everyone is

loving the first podcast, so I come to bring you more podcast information. So, we're going to

talk about four diLerent peptides today. And those four peptides are really about longevity

and regeneration. You know, as part of our programming, we talk about Lifegevity, which is

health span meets longevity. And it gives you a framework, if you will, for extending lifespan

and feeling better longer. So, that's the peptides we're going to talk about today.

I like to say it's where longevity meets age your way, which is kind of our platform and our

and our slogan. So, we're going to dive into these four peptides that redefine what is

possible for energy, fat metabolism, sleep and brain optimization. So, without kind of

belaboring the point, let's start talking about the first one. The first peptide is called AOD-

9604, called the metabolic modulator or the metabolism modulator. And it's interesting.

This one is just starting to become popular, at least with some of my patients. And it's a

small piece or a fragment of human growth hormone. Human growth hormone is like the

master peptide or the master hormone. It tells everybody downstream what to do. It's

designed to trigger fat metabolism eLects without raising some of the things that go up with

human growth hormone. For specifically for my people that maybe aren't exercising as

much as they want to or could they don't really want the anabolic eLects of that HGH,

AOD-9604 can have that belly fat removal kind of focus without causing that unwanted

tissue growth or increased muscle mass. It also literally, focuses on the belly fat, so it

stimulates fat breakdown and inhibits new fat formation. Maybe that's even more important

than stimulating that fat breakdown. It stops the formation of new fat. Used best in the

morning as most peptides. I like it better as an injection and it supports that weight, muscle

tone and recovery. It will help like kind of like growth hormone with that muscle tone and

recovery and may enhance metabolic flexibility so that insulin resistance as well as some

repair mechanisms and joint repair. It is the perfect peptide for metabolic patients for

someone who's plateauing in diet and exercise, maybe also as an adjunct to those GLP1s.

If it's not working well, or if you're plateaued, you're stuck or you can't get rid of that last

little bit of belly fat. The great part about this peptide too, guys, is it's not a stimulant, so it's

not going to cause that racy eLect or anything like that. And really it won't aLect blood

sugar levels. Whereas some of the GLP1s really make your blood sugar drop and they're not

very well tolerated by certain people because it makes them too tired, this AOD-9604 will

actually get the fat without lowering blood sugar, which is huge. And like I said, it can be

used in conjunction or as like a little cohort to the GLP1s to specifically focus on the

abdomen. I can't say that it doesn't get rid of fat other places because it does, but it really

does focus on that fat. Abdominal belly fat, perimenopausal, andropausal, male and

female section. Very few side eLects to this peptide. And, it is taken again just like most of

our peptides. This peptide is one of those peptides that we can, we can dose it a little bit

diLerently, but we like to dose it five days a week. It can also be dosed weekly or bi-weekly if

you're kind of tapering down on a GLP1. So, we do it like that as well.

Okay, let's talk about the next one. Epitalon. Epitalon is the longevity peptide. This is

actually one of my favorite peptides. Why do I like this peptide so much? Because it doesn't

have to be taken every day, number one. Number two, it naturally stimulates the

lengthening or the maintenance of telomeres. Telomeres are basically the tails of DNA that

actually start to degrade as we age.

And we think that this is one of the mechanisms of cellular aging and healthful and being

healthier. Having longer telomeres, we know is a positive thing. This stops the degradation

and maintains the length of telomeres. It actually can help with circadian rhythm. So, your

sleep and wake cycle enhances melatonin secretion and reduces oxidative stress in the

mitochondria. So again, we're going back to that cellular, clean out that cellular debris. All

this stuL that gets junked up on our mitochondria can't reverse things that are creating

damage. And so, like oxidative stress, you know, various things that assault our body on a

regular basis. This epitalon actually helps to minimize that and actually reset that

mitochondria. So that's why we call it the longevity peptide. Works on your telomeres of

your DNA and it helps to enhance that mitochondrial repair and how they function.

Obviously, the sleep, wake cycle and melatonin are a bonus. I mean, we know that sleep is

so important for lifespan and health span, but we know the cells are functioning better.

They're going to have a better cellular lifespan and improve sleep and quality of circadian

rhythm and supporting that DNA. One of my favorite regenerative products, think about it

as like a nightly cellular reset to pursue healthy aging. It's usually done as pulses

throughout the year, and we usually do about three of them throughout the year. We usually

do three of them throughout the year. And those three will help to reset over the long period

of time. It will actually work for longer periods. It's not just working while you're actively

taking it. We usually cycle it couple times, twice, two, two weeks at a time, three times a

year, something like that. We also think that it's great for promoting vitality and recovery for

exercise. Doing the Epitalon intermittently, if you're training for a long race, because we

want to get rid of the toxins that the body is building up with, especially endurance training.

Epitalon is good for kind of doing that reset and one of my favorites for longevity. So, if

you're asking me what to do for overall health, like prevent disease, preventing kind of what

we would call diseases of old age, things like diLerent dementias and things that occur with

buildup of cellular debris. This is one of them.

All right, let's go to two that are a little bit more brain related.

One is called DSIP, Deep sleep-inducing peptide. And DSIP is a neuropeptide that is made

in the hypothalamus, so it is naturally occurring and it restores deep sleep. It helps the

body stabilize that stress response.

So perimenopausal women, my anxious people that just can't get their brains to shut oL at

night, where progesterone maybe isn't cutting it, it is a little bit of a stronger GABA

stimulator than progesterone. It decreases what we would call the corticotropin release. So

that night reduces that nighttime cortisol release.

We want cortisol, that stress hormone, to go up in the morning and go down as the day

goes on.

When it doesn't do that, that cortisol, if it spikes at inappropriate times throughout the day,

it can keep you awake and it can keep you racy, especially if you're anxious. Who knows

what came first, the chicken or the egg, right?

So DSIP will help to modulate that, decrease that cortisol response at night so you get a

bigger or better deep wave sleep. We all know that that REM sleep or that deep wave sleep

is so important. This will help you get there, supporting recovery and growth hormone

release overnight. Again, growth hormone, the master peptide, we want to make sure that

it's around as long as possible, especially for that peak overnight sleep and recovery phase.

This will help it get there and then it's good for anxiety. I do combine this with our next

peptide, which is specifically for brain and anxiety and mental clarity. But, we think that the

DSIP helps to improve resiliency of the brain to not get this perpetuating anxious feeling.

Like I said, perimenopausal women, DSIP can be life changing, especially when you can't

fall asleep and progesterone is just not cutting it. I do have a handful of women who the

progesterone either is not enough or they just can't tolerate high enough levels for whatever

reason, whether they get too sleepy during the day, whether it creates too much breast

tenderness, whether they're just not there yet menopausal and they're still making a decent

amount of progesterone, but it's irregular. In this case, you never know what or how much

progesterone you're going to have on a given day -- This DSIP in this case is really nice.

All right, let's talk about this last one. One of my favorites is called Semax or Selank.

Selank is a piece of ACTH and ACTH is basically kind of a hormone that's high up on our

pathway. When we think about growth hormone being a master regulator of all our other

hormones, ACTH is a byproduct as well and it enhances this little fragment. This ACTH

enhances brain derived neurotrophic factor and helps with neuro protection.

So why is that important?

Increased dopamine balances serotonin. When we do these two things, we help with

anxiety, mood and clarity. We also boost oxygen metabolism and antioxidants in the brain.

You’re able to reverse oxidative damage or maybe poor oxygenation. If there is some

microvascular issue, this is actually a good way to help with that too. If someone has

microvascular disease, history of stroke, this can help to enhance blood flow to the area as

well and help with healing and recovery as well as clarity, focus, memory and motivation. If

someone is feeling demotivated and not so apt to go and maybe go to the market anymore

or go do the things they used to like to do.

This Selank is a great add on for them. It protects those neurons, like I said, from getting

oxidative stress. For someone who has my microvascular disease or is prone to any kind of

neurodegeneration, Alzheimer's, dementia, this Selank has been a really good add on.

There's lots of good data for it as well. This is another really cool one as Selank helps with

ADHD and focus. It's really good for adult ADHD and brain fog. The women that are

complaining about brain fog with menopause, this is a really good one. It helps to calm the

brain down, give that clarity and focus. I personally think it' one of the most under the radar

nootropics peptides helps to restore cognitive sharpness, especially your type-A, high

stress, professional, post covid or long hauler brain or other chronic bug brain fog where

your brain just can't focus, you just don't have that mental clarity. The Selank is an excellent

add on and it can be taken regularly. This doesn't have to be necessarily pulse dosed. It can

be taken kind of on an ongoing basis.

It's not like something that you necessarily get used to either - meaning like some of the

SSRIs or medications on the market. You don't always need more of it. You can stay at a

pretty level steady dose just to contribute to that overall brain calming eLect.

Enhanced blood flow - actually helps to support the immune system too. There is some

data to say that it helps reducing inflammation with this particular peptide. And it's very

safe.

It can be taken as well with SSRIs. I have seen it done together, but it doesn't have any

sedating eLects like some of the SSRIs would. So, for some of your medications on the

market that traditionally would make you feel flat or even kind of just sedated or way too

even, this doesn't have that eLect.

And guys, you can stack these. I think the most interesting thing about peptides is that they

can be stacked on top of each other. So, for example, AOD 9604, fat metabolism. And then

let's get like the menopausal female, for example, throw on Selank for mental drive

combination and calming down the brain and mood. Epitalon and DSIP, right? So, we can

get some mitochondrial help, DNA help, sleep help so that we can help rest and recover.

We can do those together. You could do all four together. The great part about this is they

are very synergistic.

A really cool one that we haven't talked much about yet is NAD. NAD is great for energy

levels, mitochondrial repair, detoxing those cells and giving you ATP or energy to do your

daily activities. We'll talk more about NAD. But, NAD can be combined with any one of

these, especially Epitalon or even some other mitochondrial cofactors, which we can talk

about in our next podcast for deeper recovery. So, you know, again, if we're working out a

lot, if we just want to detoxify, if we have a long-term bug or our energy levels are just down,

we really want to work on those little cellular powerhouses of our cell which are the

mitochondria, and start working with things that improve NAD.

Clean things out from your mitochondria, maybe use some Epitalon with that and actually

start to make some more ATP, which is our energy driver of our body, right? So, I think the

important thing is that peptides these don't have to work in isolation. They can work

together like the ones that we talked about in our last podcast, which was the growth

hormone stimulators. They're fabulous. You can use that even with some of these. Just

because they work a little bit differently, doesn't mean they can't be stacked together.

Also, the PT-141 for sexual performance and libido, you could mix with one for mental

clarity, Selank, for example, to calm the brain down. Get a female out of her head so that

she's not constantly thinking during intercourse, especially if she's super anxious, and then

get her on some PT-141 for libido help is a really great combination. So, again, these don't

have to be taken in isolation. They're great as a stack and we can alternate them throughout

the year. For example, like we talked about, that Epitalon that can be taken two or three

times throughout the year as a boost for your body to basically clean out those

mitochondria and help that DNA to stay nice and elongated, those tails to stay nice and

long, those telomeres.
